At FITZKE we operate as a ''KLEINBRENNEREI'' ( Craft Distillery ) under a special provision of the German Federal Tax Code, which offers an especially favorable tax structure to favor preservation of small traditional distilleries such as ours. Often, as ours, they are multi-generational family businesses of orchards and distillery, dedicated to preserving traditional varieties and distillations. A condition of recognition of this special status is, that we may only deliver our production within the 16 states [Bundesländer] of the Federal Republic of Germany.
